and so

we went to barnes and noble for our bi-weekly magazine fix and discovered a long long long line of people wearing costumes waiting out front and remembered it is harry potter book day and people were waiting in line (at 7) to get a bracelet that would entitle them to buy a book at midnight - it was rather festive i must say, with all of the staff in costume and gobs of little children all dressed up and bouncing around - well until the one little boy pitched a royal fit and you could hear him screaming all over the store - his parents tried to calm him which just resulted in one of those fits where the child flings themselves onto the floor and kicks and screams - i think he had a few too many of those harry potter jelly beans. i found a british embroidery magazine as well as a way cool book - the folkwear book of ethnic clothing and fabio found a music magazine, though not the one he was looking for so we threw caution to the wind and went to borders where there were even more children in costume floating about and they were giving out all sorts of little treats - i was particularly fond of the potter's potion. alas and alack they didn't have the book that i was looking for or the magazine that fabio was looking for so we stopped at the primo grill where i had some DELISH cheesy polenta and some bruschetta that was wonderful (i have this habit of ordering off the appetizer menu) and well as perhaps one too many glasses of Sangiovese so now i'm going to bed.

Hellooooo
Hey you! I'm just checking my emails from my mom's house in Kazoo, and thought I'd check in to make sure you were alive and kicking. Sounds like all is well...

I have read many books, and knit about 10 scarves. ;) Talk about a life of leisure... I've lost my mind!

I was going to send you a nice Amish postcard, but of course I've forgotten half the things I intended to bring, and your address is one of them. (My bathing suit is the other... I wouldn't bother with one, but our current hotel is full of Mormans, and they might notice)

Should be back soonish, though. We are missing the dogs and might have to come back a few weeks early. First it's back to Indiana, and then off to Cedar Point... then back to Indiana.

Catch you later, cheetahray

most of the people who work at our local borders are in the SCA so they are used to costumes, but i think that the folks at B&N wanted to feed that child to the three-headed dog
